When’s the Right Time For You to Do a Colon Cleanse?
Pick the right colon cleanse for you, and pick the right time to do it. Some colon cleanse kits take up to three days to complete while others last for up to ten days. Some ask you to restrict your diet in some way while others put you on a strict diet.
You first need to make sure you can commit to the time the colon cleanse will require, and then make sure you stock your shelves with the needed foods (and empty the shelves of foods you can’t have!)
Having extra fruits and veggies at your disposal will make it easier to stick to your colon cleanse diet, and getting rid of the fatty salty foods from your kitchen will make it easier for you not to cheat. Plan out your meals and gather all of your ingredients ahead of time, so that when you come home from work at the end of a busy day you’ll already know what to prepare each night. Make your colon cleanse lunch the night before so that you won’t be tempted to head out for lunch at the nearest drive-through.
Pick a time in your personal and professional life where you can dedicate some time to your health. You don’t want to do a colon cleanse on the week that you have a major presentation to your company, or on a week that you’ve volunteered for your child’s day long field trip. Pick a time where you are free to get to the bathroom whenever the need arises.
You also want to pick a time that you are healthy. It is not advised that you do a colon cleanse if your immune system is down. Don’t start one if you’re in the middle of a nasty cold. And you need to talk to your doctor before doing a colon cleanse if you are on any prescription medication to make sure there’s no contradictions to the medication in the colon cleanse kit.
It’s also advised to do a colon cleanse when you are feeling emotionally stable. A colon cleanse is a detoxification. As some people detoxify, and as they go day after day without some of their comfort foods and drink, they find that they become emotional and irritable. The end result of the colon cleanse leaves a person feeling energetic and revitalized, but the process can often be emotional.
It’s important, therefore, to make sure you are in a good emotional state, and that you have support from others before beginning your colon cleanse.
